Vivienne trained in printed textile design, first working freelance as a printed carpet designer for the European and US markets. She began teaching and eventually running an art and design department in Further Education, although always painting when time allowed. She became a professional painter in 2005.

Wonderfully inspired by flowers – their colour and natural form, she enjoys contrasting these with geometric patterns in fabrics and incorporating vessels in her compositions. Using watercolour spontaneously, she creates lively, fresh work removed from faithful reproduction of her collected subjects.

Vivienne has exhibited widely. She continues to teach, demonstrate and lead workshops in the art of watercolour. A member of The Leicester Society of Artists (LSA) and The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA), she has won numerous prizes for her work.
