My work results from my love of the process of painting. It is about looking for a passage of light, a shadow, a texture in the ordinary and the mundane that I connect with and that resonates with me. From there, it is about describing that point of interest, using a limited palette and as few brushstrokes as will translate my initial excitement!
I find great joy in the physicality of mixing and applying paint to ground. I get completely immersed in the judgement of tonal values and the reading of negative spaces. I could paint the same object every day and never tire of it because it is about the journey and the process, the result is happenstance.
