I live and work in rural Hertfordshire and the surrounding countryside is a huge influence on my work. I employ both traditional leading and glass painting and firing techniques, using my kiln. It is extraordinary to think that these methods have not substantially changed in over a thousand years. I also practise the copper-foiling methods devised by Tiffany, making a range of smaller glass decorative items. As well as exhibiting at shows and fairs, I sell directly to galleries and gift shops. I try to use very beautiful glass in my products, sometimes even incorporating antique glass. Every stage of the production process is done by hand and each piece is unique. I feel very lucky to be able to work at a traditional craft in beautiful surroundings.
